The capsule pro fits very well with the rest of my MIOPS gear. Shipping was faster than expected with no issue. I only gave it 4 stars because the power button on the one capsule seems too be a little tricky to press. I hope this doesn’t give me problems in the future.

The kit arrived fairly quickly which was awesome. Had a bit of problem upgrading the firmware but the support was quick to respond so that was good. The new version of the MIOPS app on my Android does not seem to hold the settings and the way to save the settings for a particular scenario setup is not what I was expecting. Perhaps I have not read the user guide sufficiently. I expected a simple SAVE function that one could click on to save my entire configuration but don't seem to be able to find it as it goes back to the default. The new version of the kit is definitely more controllable.

Product arrived within the estimated time. Pitty enough i didn't have the chance so far to test it as the only times there was lightning, i was working. I will post another review when i got the chance to test it.
This is actually my 2nd unit I wanted a backup for different types of liquids. The learning curve is nothing you see online. It's the mixture of different liquids in unit & base, temperature, height of drops, depth of drops. But once you figure out what you are looking for, it's so easy and addictive. The results are practically unlimited to your imagination. 1 great camera. 2-3 flashes, remote trigger, different backgrounds, tripods, flash gels, food coloring. Don't forget pen and paper to record your mixtures and settings. Single drops, crashes, crashes in bubble. The rest is pure enjoyment.
Nothing but positives. Ordering the Smart+ online was easy and straightforward. Item arrived securely packaged and well ahead of schedule. Trigger nicely designed and well assembled. No problem connecting device to my iPhone or to camera / flash. Have yet to try the lightning feature but all the other modes work like a charm. Phone interface easy to navigate. Purchase price reasonable for everything the Smart+ is capable of doing. Very happy with my buying decision.

Does the Smart Motion Pack work with my camera?
Yes. Smart+ works with 500+ DSLR and mirrorless cameras from Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Panasonic, Olympus and more. Select your camera model before checkout and MIOPS includes the correct cable with your order.
What is difference between this and the Smart Expert Pack?
The Expert Pack pairs Smart+ with the Splash water drop kit for studio, high-speed and liquid art photography. The Smart Motion Pack pairs Smart+ with the Capsule Pro motorized pan and tilt head for motion timelapse, panoramas and product photography. Both include Smart+ with all seven trigger modes. The choice comes down to whether you want water drop capability or motion capability.
Can I use Capsule Pro for 360 product photography?
Yes. Capsule Pro has a dedicated mode built for exactly this. Set the number of shots in a rotation and Capsule Pro moves the camera to each position and fires the shutter automatically. Because the camera orbits the product rather than the product spinning, your lighting and background stay completely consistent across every frame.
Does Smart+ work for high-speed photography, not just lightning?
Yes. Lightning is one of seven modes. Sound Mode fires on any auditory event: shattering, splashing, popping, clapping. Laser Mode fires the instant a beam is broken, useful for wildlife, falling objects and liquid streams. These are how photographers capture exploding fruit, powder throws, hummingbirds and poured liquid frozen mid-air. Lightning is one application among many.
Does this replace a camera slider?
No. Capsule Pro moves the camera in a rotational arc: pan, tilt and rotation around a fixed tripod point. A slider moves the camera linearly along a track. They solve different problems.
