The MIOPS Story
In 2010, a photographer friend came to Erkan with a straightforward question: is there a reliable way to photograph lightning during the day? At the time, the honest answer was no. Capturing a lightning strike required either extraordinary luck or equipment setups too cumbersome for practical use.
Erkan, a hardware engineer by training, heard the problem and had one response: "Challenge accepted." To him it was a solvable problem. It just hadn't been solved yet. After months of prototyping, he had a working trigger that could detect and capture a lightning strike in milliseconds.
That question became the founding idea behind MIOPS. Not just a device, but a commitment: to build the tools that photographers actually need, and make them reliable enough to trust in the field.
